Yesterdays post about Relay For Life Fundraising Ideas generated a lot of requests for more examples. Here’s a few more that have been in the news lately.
A group in Alabama put together a billboard listing the names of loved ones who had lost their battle with cancer. With a suggested donation of $100 a name, their fundraising billboard brought in $7,500.
Here’s an article about a teacher battling cancer who put together a “head art” fundraiser with her students. They came up with six designs to decorate her bald head and the kids voted for their favorite with donations. Four years ago, the same teacher did a Locks Of Love fundraiser that raised donations with the privilege of cutting her hair going to the top donor. Bless her heart!
This group is doing a clam chowder fundraiser dinner as part of their Relay For Life campaign. And another group is doing a Fashion Show and Tea Fundraiser.
There are a lot of great ideas out there, but a huge factor in any fundraising effort is getting a big turnout. Here’s an article I wrote on how to get publicity.
I’ll post more event ideas as I come across them.
