Just when you think you’ve heard it all in the world of school fundraising, a news story from Pittsburgh reports that four mothers were arrested after repeatedly failing to pay for $520 worth of fundraising candy bars.

Seems the recalcitrant moms either spent all the money or ate all the candy bars and couldn’t be bothered to cough up the ducats demanded by the PTA.

As a result, they’ve each been charged with misdemeanor theft and ordered to appear in court over their failure to pay for the candy from last September’s school fundraiser.

Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to just pay for the candy instead of all the attorney fees and court costs?
